  John and all,

Earlier today I flew N142LL from its home base in Quincy, Ca --
identifier 2O1-- to Auburn, Ca for the usual gourmet lunch and
return. High, thin clouds, smooooth air and directly over some of the
prettiest terrain of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. Climb rate to
ten thousand or so? I did not clock it but I would like to see you
beat it with less than 300 hp.

Speed at cruise: very close to 3 miles a minute and 10 gallons per
  hour.

Have an urge to get upside down? Effortless. Draw any glances on the
ramp at destination? I think so. Right after take-off have any
people stopped walking to stare? Yeah.

  Life if good.

  dave

  420 hours on LL
