I am redoing my fuel flow test , because I am not getting 2900 on my static run up , or even rolling down the runway , at 37 GPH divided by 60 seconds. should I have 0.61 gallons per minute , this sound right?

Not getting 2900 RPM at WOT - First confirm your prop blades are set at
the correct angle. Then, check the prop governor settings for both high
and low RPM.

BTW, you can not get 2900 RPM or 100% STATIC run up. It should achieve
2900 on T.O. at WOT. Normal fuel flow, according to the M14 manual is
37-41 Gallons per hour at WOT on take off.

Can u tell me roughly what u get on static? I'm just wondering if getting 15 GPH on my fuel flow and 2000 on static shouldn't I have been closer to 37 to 41 GPH ? that's why I was Questioning if I was getting full power .

If all you are getting at static and with the throttle and prop full
forward is 2000 RPM, I think you have either a prop pitch or prop
governor issue or both. 2000 RPM and 15 GPH sounds about right. Only
at WOT and 2900 RPM will be be seeing 37-41 GPH. What manifold pressure
are you seeing at max static RPM? At WOT and max RPM, the M14P
develops about 35" or 880 mm of manifold pressure.

I have seen many new engine installations NOT have the prop governor set
properly to achieve max RPM. I have also seen the prop blades
incorrectly set which if set too coarse will prevent the engine from
achieving 2900 RPM.

What prop/hub is installed on the engine? Have you ever adjusted the
arm on the prop governor? Not just the fine pitch stop. If you do not
have the Kimball wheel on the front of the prop governor, I would highly
recommend you install one. It is THE easiest way to make prop governor
adjustments. http://www.jimkimballenterprises.com/web/m14p.php. It is
the 7th item down on the page - M14P-7.

There is also a liner in the nose case that has a tendency to wear,
which can produce the same result. After confirming the other issues
are not the problem, you may want to investigate this. We have a repair
for the issue.
