Sam sent me my plenum this week and I thought some of you might want a peek.

Looks like a lot of work. Have fun, and make sure to let us know how much work it is to get it fit, on and sealed.

Michael,
The plenum looks fantastic. It’s probably been on the list before, but would you mind sharing the price? Also, please advise how good the fit is and what you needed to do to install. It looks very promising and probably will seal a lot better than my current setup.
Thanks,
Marcus

Make sure you let us know how it fits and performance. Is he going to make a cowl for cold air induction with a larger opening in the bottom of the cowl? JJR

Does anybody know it this plenum will fit the Van's cowl? It looks like it
should, although the intakes would require some glass work. The top looks
like it would fit. It would be nice to have a plenum made for the Van's
cowl if this one won't do it.
By the way, the Mattituck TMXIO-540 arrived today. It's a good looking
engine and hopefully even better running. You'll notice the oil filter
adapter is not straight back, which should make working with it much easier.
The other one is a pain, and there is no way to get a torque wrench on it
without a long wrench/lever on it, which adds all kinds of fancy
calculations into the mix, of course.

I believe it's supposed to. But as you stated it will require a little work around the intakes. The plenum is more efficient so it doesn't need as large of an cooling intake. This was one of the big advantages in speed that his cowl and plenum combination have made in the past. Give Sam a call directly and he will be happy to chat with about it. The price is $450.
There are some pictures of the stock engine cowl on his website under "projects" I know he made changes for the Cold Air but haven't seen them yet. He is supposed to have a cowl at Barrett's booth in OSH.
