Well, How is everybody? Pretty quiet. I am moving furniture this =
weekend. (all week) I've sold my Captain's house and moving in to the =
new hire second officer home. "Down sizing to profitability" is what =
the airlines call it.

The good news is that I can get 2400' of grass runway. The bad news is =
that its at 6800' elevation! I think I see a Yak 52 in my future.

Any Yak owners operated at that altitude from grass?

Did some viper flying the other day. 31,000' 8 minutes at a comfortable =
speed. Handled nice considering there was no air. I didn't think a =
"piper" wing, (Hershey bar) could get up that high. IAS was about 175 =
kts. True as best I could sifer was about 350. However, fuel was down to =
89 gph! Took 225 liters to get there from engine start. Roll rate was =
non existant up there. I requested a descent to the airport and rolled =
it over, HI YO Silver!! Fell.
Aileron rolls at that attitude (nose down) got better of course in the =
mid 20's. I know, IFR acro. Whats your point? I never lost sight of the =
instrument panel.

Thats my pilot report. Maybe someday we can save some money and do =
another flyin??

I had a great time in California. Vance and Thierry did too. Its good to =
make new friends.
Bill

Test flight. However, nobody asks if you are RVSM. They assume.
