				| Hey Guys, the latest in the on going saga. I checked the points in "the shower of sparks" unit & they were pitted & when activated showed a yellow spark & a crackling sound. I spoke with Doug Sapp & he had a new set off of a defective sparks unit. I installed those, wiping off the oil mist on the inside of my unit. Also, the end of the electro-magnetic that pulls the bottom points down, had a coating of surface rust that I removed with fine sandpaper. I used the gap that was pr-set on the new unit. This I measured with a dial caliper from the top of the adjustment screw(where the slot is) to the bottom of the brace it screws into & the distance was .439 thousands. When activated this time, I got a bright blue spark & a loud snap. Much much stronger. Today I parked the CJ out in the sun for about 3 hours at 85 degrees, primed it three times without pulling the blades thru & it wouldn't start. I gave it two more primes & it fired, but didn't start. Two more primes got it started & running OK. So, I think my problem was a weak spark from the starting ignition coil. Thanks to all for your help.
ps Doug says he can't get any more points sets for the shower of sparks unit
