So after pushing the 801 back into her spot the last two days I have decided a tow bar would be nice.

I sized a tow bar off a Cessna 172 it fits the nose gear tubing just right.
I was thinking of welding two stubs on either side to grab onto.

Has anyone else done something similar or different?

Take a look at Larry McFarland's solution:

He sells the ring. Go to www.macsmachine.com and click on "For Sale" in the
lower left.
