Hi guys,



I'm at the point of attaching my new-style BRS engine mount brackets to the firewall. Has anyone seen a drawing that specifies number, type, and placement of bolts, etc? I searched the archives and the BRS site - no luck with the new Zenith mounts. I'll check with Zenith if there's not one out there and post it here.

 I only have the installation manuals for the one that ZAC recommends. Whats´the difference with this new one? Any website to check it out?

The revised 6B6 dated 8/7 shows the details of the triangular top motor

mount bracket. I've attached the copy Caleb at ZAC sent me.

I hope the horizontal angle of the firewall to the upper longeron matches

that of the bracket. Otherwise you will have to trim the bracket like I did.

Or maybe you welded your own.



Also be careful to stagger the bolts through the bracket and the longeron

relative to the rivets that hold the side skins to the longerons. Otherwise

you may find it difficult to get the nuts and washers on the bolts (and get

a socket on them) due to interference with the "bulge" of the pulled rivets

inside the fuselage. But my installation was probably more complex than

yours since I was retrofitting the new style mounts dues to manufacturing

mistakes in my QBK.

And here are some drawings of the BRS-installation for Europe's CH601XL ULM. I got them from Nick Heintz/Zenair Europe.



Does anybody know if the AMD BRS-installation is with softpack in front of the instrument panel (behind the firewall) or in the fuselage baggage compartment?



I will install a Galaxy GRS6-600 in my XL (similar to Scott's BRS-setup).
