Many L-29s were produced without the "firecock". So, if you can't find one,
they are the hardest of all parts to find, block it off and go without.

Did the airport manager at Calif. City give any hint to the price of gas for
us?

L-39; How many L-39s does that guy own? The Alaska crash was suppose to be
his as well.

Group,

I do not think that Riggs owned the aircraft in Alaska. It was just one of his
friends/Employee flying the aircraft.

http://www.alaskajournal.com/stories/021206/hom_20060212001.shtml

I will check with Tom Weil, California City Airport Manager tomorrow on fuel
prices, as I will be at my hangers.

Sounded like the Cal. group wanted to save gas and have it local. I have an
L-29 in Cal. that I will fly instead. I'm going to fly it back to Colorado.
This is a good excuse to do it now.

If it will save fuel so that people will actually fly after they get there,
then its a good deal to have it there. I think the other 2 Colorado guys
gave up when they heard it was moving to Calif. City. So its fine out there.
We can work around any airspace issues and have a good time.

I would still like to know if anyone is interested in formation
flying/training. The other pilot that wants formation training needs someone
to formate with.

I'm always "in" for flying. Just let me know where to land.

Group,

Talked to Tom Weil today, and he said that the person contacting him, was bouncing
back email.

Just to let you know, I have a large nitrogen tank you can use while at Cal
City. I also have Oxy avail, if you need it. I supply both of these for the
CJAA fly-in's at Mojave.

John,
Thanks for everything. can you please forward my email to him (tom weil, if he's the one to speak with about the fuel) colyergreg(at)aol.com so I may contact him for the fuel. Or you can see what you can do with that since it seems you know him. So far I think we have 6 L-29's coming in. Thanks for the use of the Nitrogen and 02 tanks as I am sure we will need some. Many thanks John.

Gary and group,

The closest motels are in mojave. The two bigest are motel 6 and Marah. Mojave
is about 15 miles by land (you will have my conversion van for transportation).
I have a bed, two couches, and a cot aviable my house in Cal City. Any more
then three will have to sleep on the floor. If the weekend is about flying,
save your money for fuel and stay at my house (free).

I will be in mojave this morning and will check with marah and motel 6 for numbers
and rates for you.

John,
Many thanks. Free is good! I don't mind the floor but if motel 6 or the
other is cheap I can share a room with one of my flying partners. Greg

Put a Viper 29 behind the 39 and point it down might get you 500MPH.
