This list has been quiet for a while. Anyone doing any flying since fuel prices have gotten a little lower? I'm still dreaming of owning an L-29. Currently building a Mustang II, and renting a C-152. In my mind, I fly jets!

I think the L-29 is a great plane. But, I'm 800 hours away from being able to get a sign off as PIC of a L-29. Reality of having two young children, mortgage etc on a tiny income keep me in the dreamer category..at least for now!

Ya, I put it in my plane during the air races and it runs great! Gotta love those zero time factory overhauled engines.  Big difference from my old engine.

It will take you 4 years to restore, plus it costs less than a used truck to buy.

I’d start now.

Brian, I was in Palmyra NY for Thanksgiving. Palmyra is between Rochester and Syracuse. Wish I had known, I definitely would have taken you up on that offer. Maybe next time I make it up. Thanks Brian!

Oh crapola! Now I'm going to have to get busy! The time and money right now is going to the Mustang II build! My son is 2 1/2. I think a L-29 would be a great project for us in another year or so! I hope Mr Schwartz (hope I spelled it right) is still bringing in 29's then. I spoke with him a while back. Nice guy.

You have to remember , you get what you pay for, Although it might be possible to get a "certified" L29 for 35,000
you probably are not getting much and you wont know how it was put together or much of its history., I good one here is more in the range of $50,000. So, there still is a savings to buy it in the box, if you are handy.
