That looks like a V-530 propeller on a Yak 50, and I would suggest it cannot be repaired. But, interestingly, if it were an MT propeller that had significant damage even to the last foot of the blade, new wood can be inserted. A very crude "repair", given that the damage only extends, as it seems from the photograph, a few inches into the blade is to cut that end of the blade and do the same on the other side, matching the distances as precisely as can be done. At least you would then have a working propeller, but obviously put a good sealing compound into the exposed wood. But of course, probably best to get a new pair of blades from Whirlwind!

Sitting in the hanger, gear down, turn on main air valve, big leak and gear handle. Gear to neutral = No leak???

Bill, that usually means that one of your gear actuators has an internal leak. The air goes through an internal actuator seal to "the other side" and then vents through gear handle. Putting gear handle in middle removes air from going to actuators. Yak-50 anyway. Talk to Dennis Savarese regarding 52's.

There is a problem with what some vendors from ex-Eastern block are advertising. Beware of fraudulent declarations when purchasing from these. any of the last stock of OEM propellers.All of these are OLD !
Under the paint finish, a lot of clever repairs may have been performed. The wood may have absorbed oil, silicon, and grease. The leading edge rivets when sanded many times, over the 40 years of repair work, will render the leading edge weak when compared to the original state.
Another very important item to check is the metal adaptor. Over the years a certain amount of play would have been created between the adaptor and the reinforced wood. Over the years we have received many blades for restoration but we found cases where the connection between the high density wood and the adaptor was no longer serviceable and had to be scraped. In some cases it was more economical to produce totally new 530 D blades than repairing the original.
My personal suggestion.
