Went looking to change some No7 Aileron Push rods Part H2-51316-00 Was informed that there were two variations of it.Maintenance books don't mention two variants.

Image below shows the Two variations. the differences on the thickness of the end pieces.

Went and looked at two CJ6A's both had the "FAT" rod installed on the Starboard Aileron and the "THIN" rod installed on the Port aileron.

anyone know the deal with this ?

Gooday Mark.

Probably better by Facetime/Zoom or something else. I am in Australia so phone calls not really practical.

I have no issues changing the rods just trying to understand why there are two differrent variants.

There is no reason.
There just are.  Typical part variations for long term production of anything.
Either should fit in your plane.  Either would fit in my 1974 CJ aircraft.
