				| Well, the full message should have read:
 Hello all,

I have a relatively new (<1 year old) CJ volt/ammeter that is pegged fully clockwise, and does not respond to the volt pushbutton.

Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting?

 Thanks
 Ed

				|    Good morning Ed, Ya in such cases, I always start by removing the cannon plug from back of the instrument and thoroughly cleaning all the plug's sockets, as well as the pins in the back of the instrument's plug, using a good electrical contact cleaner.
That helps me ~85% of the time.
(My 2nd thought, if the quick cleaning doesn't help, is there's a short in your system's wiring. Tracing the wires with flashlight and mirror to look for a tell-tale chafe is a good, minimally invasive next step.)
