I can't tell you what your extras are worth, but 5 yrs ago I paid $12,000 for a good core that could be rebuilt for around $26-27K, for total cost approx. $39K, in the era after Lycoming jacked the price of both engine kits and complete new engines, roughly 10K.
There are some that would say that if your old engine isn't using unusual amount of oil and has good compressions, to keep flying it.
Curious what you bought as replacement that you aren't reusing fuel system, ignition and baffles.

So I bought this engine in 2008 and had the fuel system overhauled and
added five new cylinders. Knowing it was a high time engine, I put
money away over the last ten years to buy a brand new engine. I put a
deposit on a Titan IO-540 about 4 years ago. They kept the quoted
price to me and this last year they built up the engine. It included
dual Lightspeed ignition, cold air induction, roller tappets at a
price below what I could get thru Vans. I have been doing oil changes
at 50 hour intervals with oil reports. Titan finally wanted to
deliver the engine and this engine was at BO. So time for a switch.
I am making everything firewall forward "New". New baffles and any
related parts that needed changing out have been replaced. So I have
this engine and looking to recycle it.

I was having an oil leak but pretty sure it was the prop governor.
That is out for an overhaul to go on the new engine. Compression
numbers are good. but I would assume someone might continue to use the
new cylinders? I don't know, I am not an engine expert. Hence the
question about the value of this engine.

Hi Jim,

I'm almost in the same boat as you.  I've been putting away money
for a new engine as I fly, and this year I ordered a new Titan engine.
It's not due until mid-2020, and I'm only at 1450 hours right now
on mine that was built zero time to new limits when I got it.  I just
figured now is a good time to order one because in my case, someone
else who's building can still get a few hundred or maybe even 1,000
hours out of this one, but I can finally cash in my brand new engine
discount and the next one will keep me going for perhaps the rest
of my flying years.   So I'll be curious as to how your sale goes.
Mine has enough time left on it that I'm hoping to get somewhere
around a  1/2 share of the >$50K that the new one costs.
Hopefully the new one will be as reliable as this one has been.

Sorry, I see you said "Titan".  I got a Lycoming Thunderbolt.
Just wanted to make sure I spoke correctly.
