Hi

My AME reported the beacon was not working during my annual. So far I
checked the bulb, the fuse, and replaced the flashing unit. There is
power al the way to the socket but for sound reason it dies not work.
Does anyone have ideas what it could be?

Andrew

Try this. It doesn’t always work, but, hey, it’s free.

The dummy load is connected just like the beacon. Exchange the two connectors.

The beacon power supply switches between the two and therefore, maybe the one side of the power supply has failed and the other side still works.

I have also seen a lot of corrosion in the socket. There is a Dremel tool that can get in there and polish the surface.

Or, you can delete the flashing beacon and install a tail strobe. Then install a flush cap.
