For you guys that are flying and working on the static port / airspeed errors.
Couple of questions / Comments:
(1) Has anyone gone back to the EFIS folks to see if they can provide an airspeed calibration method. Maybe a linear scaling factor to the calculated airspeed number prior to display to offset any static port "differences".
(2) If the airspeed is slightly off is the altitude also "Off"? I would think any static port errors would also have an altitude error. What is the GPS telling you at zero airspeed and altitude vs 200 mph (or knots)?
Just curious,

Jim, an excellent observation and one which from a safety standpoint
which should have been intuitive to all readers. I was surprised no one
else mentioned it. Vary the static pressure either positive or negative
and vary the altitude inversely. "When going from High to Low - lookout
below". Sound familiar.

I purchased two static ports from Aircraft Spruce and found them to
be very thick. At least .080" . This seemed to be way too much so I
had them machined down to .035. which looks to be more like
Beeechcraft or others I have seen. Not flying yet so no detailed
specifications on the install yet. I may put a small bead of Proseal
around them.
