				I just had the opportunity to take a terrific ride in an AT-6 Texan this last weekend.  Complete with all the aerobatics I cared to enjoy.  What a blast!!!  We got the G reading to just under 4. The secret to a calm stomach.....half a Diet Dr. Pepper for breakfast on the way there. 
 
 Just out of curiousity.....what are the positive and negative G ratings of the ten?  I haven't seen these published anywhere.  I know we won't do the aerobatic thing in our 10, but out of comparison to my recent experience I want to know.

 I think it was designed for use within the standard category normal
 limits of +3.8 and -1.52 G's.
 
 That's great that you took a flight in an AT-6 Texan.  I'm hoping to
 do some advanced recovery training some day, perhaps in a plane
 like that.
 
 We too had a new experience this past weekend.  We went to 3 local
 fly-in's in the RV-10, one of which was at a small grass strip
 with just about every type of small plane and ultralight you can
 imagine.  We paid and took the 4 of us up in a 1929 Curtis Wright
 TravelAir Biplane.  It sure was an experience!  I've never
 seen my youngest so happy in an airplane. (photo attached)
 
 This reminds me....from time to time, the discussion turns to where
 to put the OAT probe in the airplane.  One builder recently told
 me they didn't want to tear things up to move the wire out to
 under the wing, somewhere mid-span, like I suggested...and that
 they would mount it far back aft under the tailcone.   From the
 ride in the TravelAir, I can tell you for sure that you would
 never want to do this.  I could feel the heat off the cylinders
 a few feet back within the boundry layer around the airplane.
 There is almost no possible way that your OAT will read properly if
 it's inline with the prop, either in the sun on top, or the exhaust
 flow on the bottom.  Move it out to a place under the wing, near an
 inspection panel.  If you don't, not only will your chance of icing
 maybe go up, but your systems like in my case the Chelton's won't
 be able to accurately calculate density altitude and True Airspeed.
 
 Anyway, nice to see you're not so focused on the -10 that you
 won't get out and have some fun!

				Hey Tim,
 
 Thanks for the direction.
 
 You are absolutely correct.  Enjoying flight and all that goes with it is a
 major reason for the build.  The people that surround it, the unbelievable
 scenery, the excitement of your youngest as she gets to take a ride in a
 very cool 1929 Curtis Wright TravelAir Biplane.....and so much more.
 
 All of us building are very blessed for the opportunity to do so.  Can you
 think of many things better than pouring hours of your time into a project
 that allows for so much fun with your family and the satisfaction of such an
 accomplishment?  You and the others that have completed the project....now
 fly!  The rest of us can't wait to get there, but along the way there are
 small victories that are adding up to the big payoff.  
 
 For now....I'm a builder that is a student pilot.  I have much to learn.
 Soon I will be the certificated pilot of an airplane that I was fortunate to
 build.  
 
 I've attached a picture of the AT-6.  The pilot/owner is Dick Jones.  The
 plane is "The Spanish Lady" and it is beautiful on the ground and in the
 air.  Unfortunately, he must sell it due to high fuel costs.  Anyone want to
 upgrade?

				Hi Sean:
 
 It's on page 21 of the final inspection and flight test section of the 
 builder's manual.  As Tim posted +3.8 and -1.9 at a gross weight of 2700 
 lbs.
 There are a couple of paragraphs on G loading and testing.  This section has 
 lots of other good "stuff"; it may not come until you order the finish kit 
 if you are not that far along.
 
 There is no discussion about "rolling Gs" so you have to assume these limits 
 are for none rolling conditions only.  Pulling near limiting G loads at the 
 same time as a roll input can easily overstress the down aileron wing.
 
 Any of the aerobatic RVs will fly rings around an AT6, sure miss the RV4. 
 Bananas are good for breakfast too..they taste the same coming up as going 
 down.

				Dick is a fine gentleman and I too did some aerobatics with him and
 Spanish Lady back in 1990 when I was producing airshows for the Blues.
 He was based at Centennial (Colorado) and the memory of our low pass
 over Chatsworth Reservoir at 50' AGL was unforgettable.
 
 This is a well maintained T-6 if there are other Warbird fans within the
 RV-10 community.
