Howdy all,

Anh Vu asked me to post this question today since he doesn't have
access at work...

His throttle quadrant type prop governor cable is coming up too short.
The plans say 72.5" for the governor cable, and this is indeed what
my parts list showed when I got my quadrant at about the same time
he did. I didn't have a problem, but his is too short.

To make matters worse, when he calls Van's, they're telling him that
the longest cables they sell are 70.5", not 72.5". So there
definitely must be some discrepancy somewhere...since that would mean
that either the cable or plans are wrong.

I can't measure mine right now, at least not accurately and timely.

Is there someone with a quadrant installed (or even not installed)
who can verify the length of cable they got? It should list it
on the sticker. Ideally, someone can reply who has the quadrant
installed, and can still both read the sticker and measure the
cable. He'd really appreciate it.

Tim

My cable is labeled 70.5" still in the box. Also the parts list with
the quadrant lists it also at 70.5". Is this a problem with others?

Update on this cable prob.... Thanks for checking, Tom, but this a.m.
I got an email from Anh who admitted it was "operator error". There
is still a discrepancy as to why the plans say 72.5" and the cable is
70.5, but apparently Van's right that they only have 70.5 and that would
be useable. Anh has it working now. Sorry for the concern caused.

The plans are not very clear. They show P/N CT-VPROP-BLUE on page FF3-1,
which is the Venere (sp) cable with the blue knob to be used without the
throttle quadrant. This cable is 72.5". If you have a quadrant, the P/N is
CT-Q70.5, and it should come with its own instructions. There they simply
label each of the cables accordingly (throttle, prop, mixture) with "see
NOTE 1" under each lable. NOTE 1 says "part not included in fuselage kit".
