Hi List,
Awhile back I wrote the list mentioning that there was rust-colored dust coming out of my landing gear selector valve handle.

The (relative) good news is that we've located the rust in a rusty actuator. Which leads me to 2 questions:

1) Does anyone sell replacement parts for the Yak-50 MLG actuator? We believe the rusted part is repairable but if a spare were available that's probably an easier solution. I have pics of the parts that I can provide if needed.

2) As the rusty dust has traveled from the MLG actuator all the way through the selector valve, there's some level of dust contamination in the system. Are there any recommendations on what to use to clean the air system out? Or is this not recommended?

Many thanks for any wisdom,
Andrew

Mike at Superfinishers in AZ made the end caps for my 50's actuators...back in 2006 or so. They were a 1000 times better than the OEM parts. He also has/had a 50. He might be able to help you out for future needs.

Thanks! Yep, in touch with Mike now.

Also Doug Sapp recommended a "Final Filter" to be added in front of the landing gear selector valve to filter out any foreign matter that we're going to try installing.

BIG Thumbs up on the final filter.

Doug educated me in this as well.  Glad I did.
