Also what kind of covering.

Mine spent 15 out of almost 20 years parked outside in all seasons and all weathers in Scotland. It was painted with twin-pack which has a few small osmosis blisters to show for this cruel treatment. While parked outside, it was covered totally by the best covers which money can buy, Jaxida.

The second set of Jaxida covers which I bought were made of a different and lighter-weight fabric than the first. A few years ago there was very little sun to be seen and it seemed to rain all year. Consequently the covers seldom got a chance to dry out and that was the year when several osmosis blisters appeared.

Frequent washing of the covers in Nikwax, such as gets used to keep rain jackets and tents waterproof, didn't help and may have made matters worse by slowing the escape of moisture which will inevitably condense under the fabric in prolonged damp cold conditions.

With hindsight it may have been better not to use any covers in such unending sogginess.
