Fans for the Garmin Navigators. . .
Both the 430 and 530 run "hot", at least from my point of view. This is
normal says Garmin and I was wondering if any of you guys have installed
rear fans to assist in shedding some of the heat.
And, how you did the mounting,etc.
I think using the small computer type fans can be installed to run full time
when the panel is operating. They seem to do this in computers and last for
years. It is the mounting of the fan that I think is a problem.
Ideas. . .

Mounting fans in my BD-4 was very easy. First I glued coarse plastic mesh to the exhaust sides of the fans and wired them to the avionics fuse block (no individual switch for the fans). To install cut two round holes in the dash, put a lip around the edges, and attach with machine screws.
