Hi Jorgen,

We did ground tests of both sides and the left side is inoperative. That is one reason we are digging into the system.
We discovered the third tube to the left boom is electrical siring - presumably for the pitot heat.
The previous owner had the outboard sections of the wings sealed off and converted into fuel tanks. As part of that conversion, apparently the wiring was fed through an aluminum tube which was then sealed to prevent fuel from getting to the wiring.
We are not going to use the internal wing tanks and we are attempting to determine what is causing the issue with the pitot-static.

Hi Stan

Not sure on three lines to left side.

However, just a question to help narrow down the fault: Have you
performed a pitot-static ground check on both sides? Were the results
the same?

Cheers Jorgen

Hi Stan
Ok all noted.
There must be a restriction in the lines somewhere. You have already eliminated the possibility of leaks, and there is no blockage from the pitot tube to the fuselage.
In the standard configuration, the lines from both sides are fed to the selector valve in the front cockpit, i was hoping to narrow the search for the restriction by checking the response from the left pitot system, i.e. Slow response from the left side as well would indicate a restriction downstream of the selector, normal operation would have indicated a restriction between the selector and the wing....
With that not possible, and in light of the left side being inoperative, i would start the search for a restriction around the selector. Presumably both front and rear cockpits are slow to indicate. If so, the fault ls before the lines are divided between the 2 cockpits and instruments. , which brings us back to the selector valve , or the tubing between the selector valve and the water traps in the root of the wing.
You say you found no restrictions from the pitot tube to the fuselage, presumably you mean up to the water traps? That would be the easy, accessible place to check.
My gut feeling says its the selector valve...either not fully in position therefore restricting the lines, or a bad bypass job.
Keep us updated...i have family here for christmas but will try check the diagrams later...
Regards Jorgen
