Really? I like the fact they are really gonna investigate it, not like the
FAA. The FAA really does not investigate experimental accidents. I have been
in a few investigations with the FAA and when it is a certified aircraft
involved they do everything, no stone left unturned. If it is a experimental
it is a quick once over, pictures and report.

However, the crash of N158MD, an AMD Zodiac XL, was investigated quite
thoroughly. The investigation is ongoing. As the first crash of a
factory-built SLSA, the FAA and NTSB both went over the design, and the
building process, with a fine toothed comb, and one person involved said
they were looking for an excuse to shut AMD down. They didn't find one.

And whats the problem with being European then?

I'm not going to try to speak for Gig, but the notion that it's acceptable
for a bureaucrat to ground all aircraft of a given type and then go on
vacation, totally preventing any investigation or work to remedy the
situation, would be unheard of in the US. No government should arbitrarily
and capriciously exert that level of control over anyone's life and then go
on vacation as though nothing had happened. In the US, that would produce
aqn emergency lawsuit designed to get the government back to doing its job.
