We need to know immediately, tonight, who is and who isn't coming. If only one person is coming from So. Cal, then we are thinking of moving it to Nut Tree in Vacaville. 5 guys are in the North, it makes sense.

However, if we move to the North, Doug Gilliss can only come up Sunday, which means he will only be able to do check rides, no instruction, because of time.

Pete is talking to some Yak guys in the Bay area, if they are leads we can do it. I can't recommend and give the check ride. Vance, FAST Lead, can recommend, but with 5-6 airplanes, I'm not sure we can fly that much.

So if we go to Cal City, we have 3 back seaters. If we go to Nut Tree, we have 2. So Far.
The Yak guys will help.

If we go South, Vance and I can fly to Reno or? and we can do instruction on the way to Cal City. No waste.

Cal City we have hanger, nitro, fuel, 3 back seaters.
Nut Tree we have the same, only 2 backseaters. So 3 stay on the ground while 2 fly.

Its kind of a waste to buy Doug a ticket just for Sunday. If we can get 2
lead pilots in the area, that will do. John is happy to fly up to Nut Tree.
I'll probably come up with him unless I run out of time then I'll fly into
SMF. Can I get a ride to your place? Vance will drive up.

We can start as early as we want on Friday. We all are planning the day off.
John and I are coming up early.

Just so everybody understands, there may or may not be anyone qualified or
ready for a check ride. If you've been flying formation it will help, but
don't be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Its book work as well as flying.

I'm making a few calls as well to some FAST leads in the area. Call the guys
you know. Pete was saying there may be some Yak guys that are leads.

Pepperoni and Mushrooms!

bill,
if you fly up, OAK is much better and closer to fly into. I will pick you up. I am off friday as well. Pete talked with Doug on the phone, he's flown with all of us before and says we should be ready for check out after a weekend. I will let you know when I hear back from the yak guys I told you about.

Group,

I talked to Tom Weil today about fuel prices. His margin is very low, however
he agreed to drop the pump price an additional $.05 gal for the weekend. He
said that logistically it would be difficult to charge only us the difference,
so he is lowering the Jet A price for everyone for that weekend only.

Started working on parking issues and meeting rooms as well.

Tom asked that I be a single point of contact for Cal City, so if you have questions
call me. If I do not know the answer, I will find out and get back to you.

We might be moving to Nut Tree airport in the North.

Turns out that only 1 guy was in the South and 4 in the North, so it made
more sense to go North. We appreciate the work. Any chance you can join us?

John,
On behalf of the whole lot of us, Many thanks for all your leg work. As
it turns out 4 of us were coming from Northern CA, some way north and RNO.
Only 1 guy from so Cal so we moved it to VCB. More fuel for flying. Again
thanks for your leg work and maybe you can make it up here?

Weather looks like its not doing well. I suggest we wait until Thursday morning and then make a decision. We can move the flyin. But if you're able to get out of your airport, then it was probably good enough to have the flyin.

We can move it back to Cal City, or ???

Scott could call Stead Field and see if Alby would give us a deal on fuel. Reno might be nice.

Everybody needs to check their E mail Thursday morning.

How about the next weekend?

Bill

Fuel is $3.02 at Minden KMEV and I can call the airport manager and try for
a "volume" discount.
Also, their runway 16/34 is 7,400 feet X 100 feet.

Going skiing tomorrow, but I can talk to Alby at Aviation Classics about his
fuel price at Reno, Stead on Wednesday.

We just had an arobatic competition last weekend and the weather was ok. We
have a front moving through right now, but it's supposed to be a nice
weekend in Reno area with temperatures in the low 60's and partly cloudy skies, but
plenty good for flying up here and of course there is plenty of territory
out to the North, south and east for flying.
The airspace over Pyramid Lake to the Northeast would make a good practice
area.
Also, there are casinos/shows/restuarants/bars, etc.... Lol.... that can
offer some night activities up here as opposed to Vacaville.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................
I can put up 3 guys at my house.

We'll take a look at it on Thursday then.

Reno Baby, Reno!
