If you have an automobile-type ignition system in your aircraft, you can do
something like what cars do when you turn the ignition switch to ON, but
have not yet cranked the engine... you can buy a cheap voice recorder chip
at Radio Shack and have it say "CLEAR!". That will get attention, too.

That's the way we did it. Works great. We did not wire up the buzzer,
