Big Question. Does anyone have personal experiance,
good or bad with the Dynon EFIS-D100, EMS-D120 or the
FlightDEK-D180. We are considering one or more of
these units for our panel on our panel and would like
real world feedback.
Thanks for any information.

Hello Dennis:
In my first RV-9A, I’ve installed a Dynon D10-A. Excellent. It was very beautiful and
efficient. I could read the info very easily in spite off some info about these difficult.
The only claim was about the procedure to calibrate magnetic compass and the way we see
vertical speed, by numbers not by bar graph.
Now I’m building my second RV-9A with EFIS-D-100 and another EMS-D-120. The choice was
made by price and the connectivity between both of them. I understand it as a redundancy
in my panel. Even then there are only one sensor for each engine parameter, the most
important in an emergency will be the info from D-100 and we have two screens for the same
sensors. It is very simple to install and maintenance free.
About the GPS connectivity it could be better like the other ones (GRT, Blue Mountain…),
but the price convinced me.
Go for it. You won’t regret.

Hi JC,
Thanks for the input. I have an RV-9 and it has a
very simple VFI panel using mostly the cheap gauges
from Van's. I'm helping a freind build an RV-7A and
were looing at panel time.
In my airplane I don't have any kind of attitude
indicator and I could install a D10A for just a few
dollars more that a Ray Allen electric attitude
indicator.

Dennis:

I have the 100 and 120. I am in the process of finishing the hook
ups.. So far everything works and I am pleased. It will be several
months before I'll be able to fly with them. I was missing a small
part (that I probably just lost) from the manifold pressure sensor.
I called Dynon and they had it to me three days later -- no charge.
Stein did my panel. You can see it at: http://www.steinair.com/

good luck

JC,

I'm just about finished with my -9 and have installed a D100 EFIS and
D10 EMS. The ability to connect the two units sold me as I wanted an
EFIS display on the right side.

Everything seems to work fine and the connections were easy to do.

There are pictures on this page
(http://www.repucci.com/bill/instruments.html) of my web site. Scroll
down to see pictures of the finished panel.
