Does anyone have the correct installation procedure for the special fuel fittings with the embedded o-ring, washer and jam? Specifically for the following:

KB-045
KB-090-T
AEL74070

I can find no reference to these fittings and the archives show that this question has been asked, but no one has answered.

Thanks!

Not sure of that you are using. A/S has Aeroquip hose & fittings but no AEL74079 listed on pages #121, 122 and assembly instructions on 123 & more fittings on 124. Went via Yahoo for KB-045 and was directed to A/S site www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/nla/contlycfuelpump.

Vince...
The fitting you have, AEL74070, is a Lycoming part manufactured by ECI. The other parts you listed are versions of the same part, one at a 90 degree with a tee fitting and the other a 45 degree and they are for the Lycoming fuel pump which does NOT have a tapered pipe thread like AN fittings do. These parts have threads which are straight and as such do not seal when tightened like a pipe thread does therefore the lock nut with a washer and a seal are provided. These parts are adapters that go from straight threads to a flared fitting which then can use the AN fittings. They are listed in the Lycoming parts manuals. The fuel pump has a straight threaded hole and the surface should be faced flat to accept the washer/seal arrangement. Just screw in one of these fittings, 90 or 45 degree as you require, with the neck facing the direction you need for your fuel line and then wrench down the lock nut to hold the elbow and at the same time sealing the fitting to the pump face. Use some fuel lube on the seal. I believe the KB-090-T is a 90 degree elbow with a tee fitting to accommodate a fitting for a fuel pressure sender.
