I am about to embark on such a device...
I do have a few sensors that I'm exploring -

Skip,

I'm working on an Arduino based system that will put everything up on one or two 2.8" touch screens - I am squeezing this into a Long EZ so space is a premium. It'll replace my tach and ...

Great call on the LM235 degree K sensor... I'll be using that on the front module for the air data computer side of this thing. Can't the ground for an LM35 just be biased up a volt or so to get the n ...

Maybe a bit late, but...
Lots of options and how smart you want this to be.
Cheap and easy way if you know a bit of C might be an Arduino... Depends on your input voltages and what IO you need...

The original intent was basic data collection for looking at performance, cooling, drag reduction, etc... It's evolved a bit to be a full engine monitoring system - with display. I'm seeing how easy a ...

Why not do your 2Hz filtering in software?
Unless you need a quite specific frequency response you can do a simple but effective exponential filter, with this in your main loop:

filteredValue = e ...

I'm in the process of putting together a data collector for my O-235 in my Long EZ... I've got the 8 thermocouples set up and working via a KTA259k shield and a Sparkfun SAMD21 Mini board. I'll end up ...

I'm feeding data to an Arduino SAMD21 from a Lightspeed Plasma 3 ignition... The SAMD21 (Rear module) will be in back by the engine (Long EZ) with a KTA259 EGT/CHT thermocouple sensor - the Lightspeed ...

I am looking at a similar application, but was leaning towards the AD623 instead. IT appears that in the 623, I can reference my output on pin 7 to a ground of my choosing on pin 8 - a GND that I woul ...

Are your lines to/from the shunt twisted pair? If not, you may be getting loop current from elsewhere in the system. Not sure how much, but worth a check.

Looking at getting rid of my external transponder antenna and putting two internal collinear 4 element antennas in the winglets of my Long EZ.

Right winglet already has my VHF com,  so I figured ...

Another reason not to do this is the dynamics of starting... I tend to release the starter before the engine reaches idle.  You don't want to be firing the non impulse mag at rpms below idle. (after y ...

Ken, The LM723 look interesting. Are you suggesting wiring it as a voltage follower and using the inverter line to drive the output to high when the dimmer is turned off? How would I wire this thing a ...

No switched side of that dimmer knob... It's simply a pot - it may go open when all of the way dim - not sure... I'd rather not change out the pot - something simple and inline to the two instruments ...
